Where can I find triathlon training plans?
We have a fully comprehensive beginner's triathlon guide available complete with training plans and advice for first-time triathletes.
Can I hire a wetsuit on the day?
Yes. Our partners Tri N Swim Well will have wetsuits for hire on the day and will be providing expert advice on fitting as well as answering any last minute open water swimming questions you may have.
Event hire costs £25 . This hire charge is all donated to Havens Hopsices . Tri N Swim Well will have a stand at the event where you can collect and return the wetsuit. Wetsuits must be reserved in advance by phone 07919 205 498 or by email firstname.lastname@example.org. Read our page on wetsuits
Do I need to wear a tri suit?
Wearing a tri suit is not compulsory. However there are many benefits to wearing a proper triathlon suit. All entrants will be sent a voucher to buy a Sundried Tri Suit at a discount price. If you have not received your discount code, please contact us. From Sundried you can buy a mens tri suit or a womens tri suit. Visit our kit page for more information.
What time does the triathlon start?
Registration and the athlete village will be open from midday. The first swim wave will depart at 2pm and waves will continue to depart every 10 minutes until 3:50pm. You will be notified of your individual start time closer to the date of the event. The fastest athletes will be starting first, so the faster your swim time, the earlier your wave time will be.
Can I hire a road bike on the day?
No. Unfortunately this is not something we are able to offer at this time. However, you do not need a road bike to be able to take part. In 2017 we had over 100 first-time triathletes, some of whom were on mountain bikes.
I have concerns about swimming in the open water.
This is understandable! We recommend getting in touch with our partners Tri N Swim Well who provide expert swimming advice and can offer 1-2-1 swimming lessons and coaching for those who have a fear of water or who have never swum in open water before.
Can me and my friends compete as part of a relay team?
No. Unfortunately this is not something we can offer at this time, however we are definitely looking to have this option for 2019 as we understand that not all people are comfortable with all three disciplines of a triathlon.
Is there a children's race?
No. However this is something we are looking to introduce in 2019. Children and family members are more than welcome to come and spectate so long as they are with a parent or guardian at all times.
Can you recommend a triathlon coach?
Yes absolutely. Please visit our partners page to find information on our trusted partners and recommended local triathlon coaches and clubs.
